3 World Trade Center opened today at the site of twin towers at Ground Zero at lower Manhattan in New York. The new tower came up at the site of the twin towers which was destroyed during the 9/11 terror attack in 2001.
It is the fifth tallet skyscapper in the US with 88 floors a total floor space of 232,000 sq. meters and 1,40,000 stores. However, most of the tower will remain empty for a while with several companies who have signed-up to the tower can move in not before 2019.
The tower promises to have over 6,000 tenants. The skyscraper which stands at 1,080 feet was the brainchild of architect Richard Rogers took eight years to build.
Located on the eastern side of the World Trade Centre it took over 4,000 workers to build the mammoth tower which was stuck in years of litigation.
The $2.7 billion state of the art tower boasts of sleek interiors with glass panels decked with graffiti and artistic representation.
