White House economic advisor Larry Kudlow will stay in a Washington-area hospital for a while but was expected to "make a full and speedy" recovery after suffering a heart attack on Tuesday.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement that Kudlow is expected to remain at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as “a standard precaution” after suffering the heart attack on Monday.
“His doctors expect Larry will make a full and speedy recovery,” said Sanders. “We look forward to seeing him back at work soon.”'
President Donald Trump tweeted the news earlier, literally minutes before his historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un: "Our Great Larry Kudlow, who has been working so hard on trade and the economy, has just suffered a heart attack. He is now in Walter Reed Medical Center."
Kudlow, the director of the National Economic Council, had joined President Donald Trump last week in Canada for the meeting of the Group of Seven world leaders. Kudlow, a former CNBC contributor and Wall Street economist, has played a leading role in crafting policy toward America's major trade partners, including China.
