Mumbai: Fire at Prabhadevi high rise contained, no loss of life reported

According to reports, fire at Mumbai's BeauMonde Towers has been contained. A major fire broke out on the top floor of a high rise building in Mumbai's Prabhadevi area on Wednesday. Level - II fire broke out in BeauMonde Towers at Appasaheb Marathe Marg in Prabhadevi locality, Worli, ANI reported.
As per reports, the fire progressed to Level - III. Over 90 people have been rescued safely. Nearly 20 fire tenders, 2 quick response vehicles, 5 water tankers and 2 ambulances were used for rescue operations and to douse the fire.

The fire was confined to the duplexes on the upper floors of the apartment complex.
More details are awaited, the cause of the fire is not yet known.
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who also lives in the same building on the 26th floor, tweeted out saying that she was safe.
Padukone expressed her prayers for the well-being of the firefighters.

According to BMC Disaster Control, the fire erupted around 2.10 pm on the two uppermost floors (32 and 33) of the building.
