Lightning kills at least 8 in West Bengal

According to reports, as many as eight people have died in West Bengal after being struck by lightning. 4 people died in Bankura, one each in East Midnapore, Birbhum, North 24 Parganas and Hooghly district respectively, ANI reported.
On Sunday, a young cricketer died on the field while practising after being struck by lightning. Kolkata and North Bengal districts have witnessed torrential rainfall over the last 48 hours.
The weather office has predicted more rainfall for Bengal, Sikkim and other North-Eastern states in days to come with the onset of monsoon.

As per reports, heavy rainfall in Kolkata region affected eastern zone servers owing to which railway reservation services took a hit.
