Shortly after the launch of OnePlus' latest flagship device, OnePlus 6, company's CEO Pete Lau gave out details of its upcoming device, OnePlus 7.
Lau made the announcement at the ongoing Mobile World Congress Shanghai in China and stated that the smartphone making giant aims to produce a 5G smartphone next year.
OnePlus 7 is expected to be 5G ready with a possible partnership with a US carrier to further expand the company's reach.
Lau looked positive at rolling out a 5G compatible device, thanks to the affinity the company enjoys with Qualcomm.
Other competitors like Oppo, Samsung, are also eyeing to launch 5G compatible devices by next year.
OnePlus 7 is speculated to be unveiled around the same time next year. Its predecessor, OnePlus 6, was launched in India in May this year.
OnePlus 6 packs in dual-SIM (Nano) and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. It runs on OxygenOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
The smartphone sports a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) Full Optic AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The device is Gorilla Glass 5 protected and comes in three colour options.
The handset comes studded with features like slow motion video recording, in-device video editing, face-unlock feature, among other specifications.
